The Grown-ups

"The Grown-ups" is the fourth collection of poetry by Kārlis Vērdiņš published during the last seven years.

"It focuses on feelings that a person has when separating from their youth with its illusions about limitless future possibilities and realizing the life’s restrictedness and fragility. These feelings relate to the cycle of birth-maturation-death which is reflected in the collection as joy for birth of a new life, life observations of contemporaries and epitaphs to dear deceased ones."
